Updating the minimum iOS and Android versions for Passenger apps

To make sure we can keep delivering updates to your apps without interruption, we are updating Passenger apps to comply with the Android and Apple minimum OS version requirements that will come into effect in early 2027.

Starting with app version 125, Passenger apps on iPhone will require iOS 15.6 or later, and Android apps will require Android 8.0 or later.

This change affects fewer than 0.1% of users across Passenger apps, and most of them can update their device to a newer OS version for free in Settings. Riders who can’t update can keep using the version of the app they already have. They won’t receive new app updates, and new downloads from the App Store will be offered the last compatible version where Apple and Google allow it.

This change will be released on Tuesday, 28th October 2026. For any questions or more information, please get in touch.
