Introducing draft disruptions

We are pleased to introduce support for draft disruptions within Passenger Cloud, providing operational teams with greater control and flexibility when managing service information.

Effective communication is at the heart of a great passenger experience. To support this, we have iterated on our disruption tooling to allow the creation of disruptions in a ‘draft’ state. This update enables your team to prepare messaging in advance, holding publication until details are confirmed or until the information is most relevant to your riders.

The Passenger disruption tool is designed to ensure that timely, accurate information reaches riders across all touchpoints: mobile apps, websites, and travel alerts.

With the introduction of drafts, operational staff no longer need to wait for every detail to be finalised before starting work on a disruption notice. Whether you are preparing for planned roadworks or reacting to an evolving incident, you can now capture the information you have, save your progress, and publish only when ready.

Adding a disruption as a draft in Passenger Cloud is a seamless experience. You can follow the normal process for adding a disruption, but simply select ‘Save as draft’ instead of ‘Publish’ to prevent the message from being published immediately. All draft disruptions are clearly labelled in the list of disruptions for easy identification. To publish a draft, simply open it and select the ‘Publish’ button. You can even clone draft disruptions to speed up your workflow.

This change will be released on Thursday, 7th May 2026. For any questions or more information about using the disruptions tool, please get in touch.
