Journey planner time consistency

We’ve altered how we calculate walking duration and overall duration of journey plans on both platforms. In an effort to ensure users don’t miss their bus, we now always round times in the journey planner up to the next full minute, instead of rounding times to the nearest minute.

Text input consistency (iOS only)

With the feature list of the apps growing rapidly, there are more and more places that require users to enter text. We’ve begun the process of updating them all to look the same to, making it obvious what is a text box, and what isn’t.

Date and time format consistency (iOS only)

Dates, times, durations and countdowns are displayed in numerous places throughout the apps, but they were being shown in a range of formats. We’ve added some rules to bring them all into line with one another and avoid mixing styles.

New payment card flow

Users without any saved payment cards (primarily first time users) now have an easier path to purchasing a ticket. Instead of tapping a button to add a payment card, if there aren’t any payment cards saved, the inputs display straight away. (note: for iOS users with Apple Pay setup they will be shown the checkout page first)

Journey Planner: Search again at an earlier or later time (iOS only)

We made it easier for iOS users planning their journeys in advance to tweak their search and find alternative results. There are now buttons on the results screen that will perform the search again either 30 minutes earlier or later.

Navigation drawer adjustment (iOS only)

We’ve tweaked the navigation drawer on iOS so that all of the menu options are now the same height, no matter what size iPhone you are using.
