Spring 2023 Quality of Life Improvements

To ensure the continued quality of the platform we regularly make small updates across the websites, apps and Passenger Cloud to improve performance, user experience or for any other quality of life enhancement. To keep you up to date with these changes we will periodically provide a summary, such as this one. For the more impactful updates, we will continue to provide individual release notes.

Spring 2023 Quality of Life Updates

  • The vehicle information sheet on apps and websites now includes the total wheelchair bay capacity of the vehicle, if that information is known. This can be accessed when tracking live buses and also from the fleet list. You can update your wheelchair bay capacity for each vehicle in the ‘Vehicles’ section in Passenger Cloud. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you need any guidance.

  • The icon used for a mobile ticket’s coverage area has been updated on apps and websites to make it clearer that this field represents an area where the ticket can be used.

  • To give operators greater control over staff access to restricted areas of Passenger Cloud, the ‘Network manager’ role has been renamed to ‘Network management supervisor’ and a new role of ‘Network management agent’ has been created. The ‘Network management supervisor’ continues to be able manage network information datasets, whereas the ‘Network management agent’ role can only view and preview them. Contact your Customer Success Manager to reassign or review staff roles.

  • A ‘back to top’ jump link has been added to the ticket list on websites so that when a user scrolls down a long list of tickets they can quickly get back to the top of the page, similar to the equivalent list on the services page.

  • Dates for Events & Attractions in apps and on websites have been updated to ensure clarity and consistency. Specifically, if the start year and the end year for an event are different then the year will now be displayed for both.

  • The Gift Code section for a specific user in Passenger Cloud now includes the ticket reference to make it easier to distinguish between gifted tickets with the same name.

  • The latest news widget, line list widget, or service update widget on website homepages now have a fixed maximum height at mobile screen sizes so that the user does not have to scroll past a potentially long list of items within each widget to access other areas of the homepage.

  • It is now possible to configure how far into the future predicted data is displayed in departure boards, from between 60 to 180 minutes depending on the SIRI-SM providers support. This can be changed by contacting your Customer Success Manager.

  • So that stops don’t obscure place names on the map on the Explore screen they are removed from the map at wider zoom levels on websites.
