Introducing the Media Library: Centralised Asset Management

Today, we announce a significant upgrade to how content editors manage images and video within the CMS. To help you keep your digital assets organised and your workflows efficient, we are introducing a dedicated Media Library.

Previously, adding an image to a page meant uploading it directly to that specific location. While simple, this made updating common assets time-consuming, as it required editing every single page where that image appeared.

With the new Media Library, you can now create a reusable Media Asset (an image or video embed) just once, and then insert that same asset into as many pages as you like.

The real power of this feature lies in how it handles updates. If you need to swap out an image in the future, you update the single asset in the Media Library. That simple change is instantly reflected across every page where the asset is used. This reduces the risk of missing outdated images on older pages and significantly cuts down administrative time.

Key Features

  • Centralised Control: View and edit media from the new ‘Media’ tab within the ‘Content’ section.
  • Revision History: Every media asset tracks its own history. If a change doesn’t look quite right, you can revert to a previous version with a single click.
  • Universal Access: You can insert these assets into any rich text editor for any content type by tapping the new ‘Insert Media’ icon in the rich text editor toolbar.

Adapting to a new workflow can take time. For this reason, we are not removing the current direct image/media embed functions just yet. You can continue to work as you do today, though we highly recommend adopting the Media Library as your standard approach for new content to take full advantage of the centralised management features.

The Media Library will be available in the CMS on Thursday, 18th December 2025. We are currently working on updates to Passenger Academy to reflect this addition and will send out a notification as soon as those guides are ready.
