Places search and stop display enhancements

We are enhancing the user experience of our Cities capabilities with improvements to location search and the display of journey plans. These changes are designed to make finding stops and train stations easier and journey instructions clearer for your passengers.

Search capability and results display

When searching for places across Cities capabilities on websites and apps, users will now be able to search by rail station short codes and NaPTAN codes. This will make it easier for regular public transport users to plan a journey from or to a train station, and also make it easier for operator staff to view journey plans between specific bus stops.

Alongside this, we have improved the display of search results by moving the locality onto a new line to make it easier for users to distinguish between the stop/place name and the locality it is in.

In the future, this will also allow you to opt in to displaying more locality information to users. When ready, we’ll share more information through the usual release note process.

Contextual stop display in Journey Planner

Stop information on a journey plan itinerary is now aligned more closely with specific travel instructions. This visual refresh provides a cleaner, more intuitive look and feel, helping users parse their journey details at a glance.

These changes will be available from Wednesday, 3rd December 2025. For any questions, please contact us.
