We’ve enhanced search functionality across our apps and websites, improving the quality of results for users to locate timetables and discover places for journey planning.
Timetable search
The timetable search has been improved to discover more relevant services related to the user’s search. This is especially helpful when users enter multiple search terms.
Places search
We’ve improved our places search functionality to provide more comprehensive results when searching for stops or places across journey plans and the explore screen search. At the heart of this is an improvement to our TransXChange importer, which now includes a fallback to use locality data from the NaPTAN database when it’s not present in the TransXChange data. We are confident that this improvement will achieve a much higher coverage for locality data, greatly improving search accuracy and relevance to users.
The search always shows the most relevant results for the user at the top. We now include more close matches further down the list as well. This means users have more options to explore if the top results weren’t what they were looking for.
This change will be made available on 6th August 2025.
