To improve the accuracy and usability of bus network information across Passenger apps and websites we have made a number of changes to our suite of journey planning capabilities.
To make stop activities clearer to customers we have updated timetables, departure boards, and the journey view (accessed from a departure board) across apps and websites to make it clear when a stop is either set down only or pick up only for a particular journey. A key explaining the symbols is displayed to the customer when viewing a timetable or journey view with stop visits that are set down only or pick up only. This change follows an update from November which improved journey plans so they wouldn’t suggest customers board or alight from stops where an operator’s network data tells us this isn’t possible and completes our support of set down only and pick up only stop activities.
We have also improved the utility of Favourites by making it easier for customers to quickly identify their favourite stops when viewing a timetable. Favourite stops are now highlighted with an icon and will display in timetables regardless of whether they are a major or minor stop.
So that operators can preview how their data ahead of the user-facing changes, Passenger Cloud has been updated to display whether a stop visit is pick up only or set down only when previewing departure boards, timetables, and journeys for a dataset. This is available now.
Updates to apps and websites will be released by the end of business on Thursday, 9th May 2024. The app changes will be available from app version 65. For more information please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager.
