To give customers advanced notice and ensure they do not miss important changes that affect their journey planning, we will launch an improved user experience for communicating planned network changes across the apps and websites on the 31st of August 2022.
The new module allows operators to display customised notices for planned network changes alongside each service on the line list and timetable views, as well as being summarised together on web for easy reference.
Planned network change notices can be created to advertise changes in TXC and can either communicate an upcoming change to a schedule, or that the service is due to be suspended at some point in the future. They are displayed to the customer when the change is due to come into effect within the next 14 days, and will remain visible for 7 days after the change has happened.
A description of the change can be added to communicate to the customer the reason for the change.
On web, planned network change notices are also shown on the timetable page directly, and can be expanded to show the full details of the change.
Additionally, the changes are summarised in the sidebar for easy reference, as well as offering a complete listing of all upcoming or recent changes.
Adding a planned network change is straightforward via a new ‘Network changes’ module in Passenger Cloud that was enabled in mid-August. Here, you can create a network change or suspension notice against a line, or lines, with a title, description and effective date aligned with a TXC and line asset update. Once entered, the notice will be displayed to the customer 14 days before the effective date, and 7 days after.
For more information on how to create and manage network change notices, please follow the instructions and advice in the Helpdesk.
We enabled the Network changes module in Passenger Cloud in mid-August, and will enable the notices on app and websites on 31st August 2022, as planned.
Additionally, this module replaces the current ‘dataset preview’ functionality which will be removed when the notices are enabled for customers on 31st August 2022.
Your CSM will be following up to assist with this task, and if you have any questions prior to this please get in touch.
