Continuing our commitment to ensuring passengers have access to the most accurate information when travelling, we now use real time stop information in the Journey Planner to display expected arrival times for each segment of the journey.
When generating a journey, we cross-reference the real time information we are supplied via SIRI-SM, and display that on the journey planner results as an expected time – either early, on time or delayed.
If delayed, we show a warning to the passenger that this may impact their ability to make the transfer or onward journey, to ensure they can make informed travel decisions.
This change is the latest in a series to use real time information to provide intelligent travel information to passengers to allow them to make informed decisions. Most recently, we started removing temporarily cancelled journeys from the journey planner results.
The journey plan view has also received a visual update on Android, iOS and Web, giving a clearer view over a passenger’s planned journey.
This update will be made available on web and iOS over the course of this week, with Android to follow next week.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
