Humphrey

Passenger’s Humphrey release introduces ticket gifting as a new feature in our iOS and Android apps.

We’ll also be rolling out improvements to Favourites across all Passenger websites and apps so users can save a bus stop, timetable and journey on the web or mobile app and take it with them wherever they go – because everything will saved to their online account.

What’s new in Humphrey

Ticket Gifting

Customers can now gift any available ticket from the mobile app to another user. Buy a ticket as normal and then enter a valid email address to send it. The ticket can be claimed by redeeming the gift code received and activating as normal. This helps users to look after dependants without needing to give them cash or a debit/credit card, whilst opening up public transport to a whole new generation of travellers through the safe use of a mobile app.

Humphrey will roll out across all Passenger apps this week, subject to app store review.

Better Favourites

In addition to bus stops, users can now save the timetables and journeys they use on a regular basis on the web too. This brings the web into line with functionality already available in the apps.

We’ve also improved the way that favourites are saved meaning that everything is now stored in the cloud, as part of a user’s profile settings. So whether accessing via web or apps a user’s ‘Favourites’ will always be available to them, when they’re logged in.

Updated app favourites

To manage these on web, we’ve added a dedicated favourites page on the web, just like in the apps.

Manage saved favourites on the web

Favourites will roll out either before or after the Christmas break.

Because syncing favourites requires us to store user data in the cloud, this update will only be available to operators where Passenger Technology Group has been identified contractually as a ‘data processor’. If you have a Passenger app, we will be already. If you have a Passenger website and you’re not sure please drop us a line and we can confirm.
