Search for stops using plate codes

Summary
Users can now easily search for and locate bus stops using assigned NaPTAN ‘plate codes’ with Passenger Apps, Websites, Voice, Kiosks and Cloud.

Background
NaPTAN assigns plate codes to some stops in its database. Plate codes are identifiers that are unique to an area, which can also sometimes be found printed on bus stop signs. Plate codes usually comprise part of the ATCO code of the bus stop in question.

Benefit of this update
Finding a specific bus stop is now much quicker and easier if a plate code is known ā€“ for instance, when quickly identifying a single stop in a cluster of stops that all share the same name.

Additional plate code data will appear in app and website searches following a network data (TransXChange) import to Passenger Cloud. If the data is not yet available in NaPTAN, then please contact your local NaPTAN administrator to request that the plate code data be added.
