Add payment card screen design update
We have improved the design of the ‘add a payment card’ screen to help you to enter your credit/debit card details correctly. A few customers have fed back about declined payments which have been caused by an incorrect postcode being entered. To make it clearer that the billing postcode, where the payment card is registered, is the one that’s needed we’ve made this more prominent on the screen.
Information about card check charge
It is possible that you will see a small charge (typically £1) on your account after adding a card. This is normal and something the issuing bank does to check the card is valid and can be charged. We have added a dialog which displays every time you add a new card, to let you know (or remind you) about it and that you may see this charge on your statement for a short period. You don’t need to contact us or your bank, as it will be removed automatically by your bank within a few days.
Inline location prompts
Instead of showing a location pop-up straight away when you open the app, we have made an update to use an inline prompt, letting you deal with allowing permission for your device’s location in your own time.
Inline wrong time prompts
We have found that some users have issues which are caused by wrong time on the device. Instead of showing a pop-up once a day which was easy to miss and might have popped up at inconvenient time, we have updated to inline prompt, letting you resolve the problem in your own time. We have also added more information, to make it clearer why the time on the device being correct is important and that an incorrect timezone can also be the issue rather than the time itself.
App launch speed (Android only)
We have made some improvements to the core code of the app, which has made the app launch speed around 20% faster. This brings the launch speed down by 0.2 seconds to just below 1 second on average, which makes the app feel more responsive.
