Passenger websites – improved SEO and link sharing to social with Open Graph tags

Social link sharing improvements
In response to feedback from operators, the Passenger team has improved link previews when shared via social media.

Custom meta data and Open Graph tags have now been added to pages, based on the content of that page. As such, Passenger website links shared to social media are much improved and display as expected.

Website SEO improvements
Passenger website on-page SEO has been significantly improved as part of a broader push to refine SEO across the board.

Relevant meta tags have been created for generated pages, such as timetables, and meta tags have been created for pages such as Fares, News, Things To Do and home pages.

These updates should result in more clarity on Search Engine Result Pages, making it easier for users to find what they’re looking for, and higher clickthroughs to operator websites.
