Following collaboration between Ticketer and Passenger Technology Group, Passenger can now integrate directly with Ticketer’s ETMs (Electronic Ticket Machines). Products configured on the Ticketer system can be set up in Passenger Cloud and sold to customers. This allows operators to report usage of mobile tickets in the same way as smartcards and paper tickets.

When configured, Passenger apps will display QR codes that change every few seconds to the ETM. This can provide security benefits over traditional driver-validated boarding codes. Boarding times can also be decreased too, with QR readers making a decision about ticket validity much faster than drivers.

Passenger supports fleets that include a partial roll out of Ticketer’s QR scanners, as the boarding codes are still available to be shown to drivers.
