Occasionally, payments made for tickets can be disputed by the card issuer. A dispute (also known as a chargeback) happens when a cardholder questions your charge with their card issuer. The issuer begins a formal ‘dispute’ process, which immediately reverses the payment. The payment amount is then deducted from your account balance.
In the past, to ensure that tickets that had their payments disputed could not be used, operators would have to manually disable the ticket through Passenger Cloud.
Following Passenger’s recent work allowing operators to issue refunds from the Stripe dashboard, we now automatically disable a ticket or voucher that has been disputed by a user through their card issuer.
Passenger Cloud will now show these in the Payments listing for a user as a “Dispute”.
