We’ve added support for TransXChange’s dynamic destination display, making it easier for passengers to understand where their bus is currently heading with more up-to-date information.
Dynamic destination display enables departure information sources to show different destinations depending on where a bus is situated along its route. This is particularly useful for circular routes, for instance, where a journey’s origin and destination are the same but, for the first half of the journey, the vehicle is heading away from its final destination. Dynamic destination display will update upcoming destination information as the bus moves along its route, thus keeping passengers more reliably informed as to where they’re heading next.
If TransXChange data is exported to Passenger Cloud with dynamic destination display information, the departure boards on both Passenger websites and apps will show different destinations for stops along the same route, as the bus moves through that journey.
To take advantage of this, make sure your TransXChange export includes dynamic destination display data, then upload the file into Passenger Cloud.
